Preferred by players looking for the crisp, alignment-promoting design of a Newport 2, but in a wider-bodied, more forgiving mid-mallet configuration, the Special Select Squareback 2 features a completely redesigned plumbing neck, a solid milled putter head and the thinner topline and slightly more compact face height of its Newport 2 cousin. In crafting this stable, blade-like mid-mallet, optimal balance was achieved by designing weight into the heel, toe and perimeter by using stainless steel sole weights and a 6061 aircraft aluminum sole plate. In keeping with the Special Select line’s design aesthetic, the Squareback 2 includes a precision mid-milled face and incorporates the Tour-inspired “cherry rings” inspired by legendary Tour putters from tournaments past.

REFINED PLUMBING NECK

Offering a full shaft of offset, every curve and contour of the familiar plumbing neck has been re-engineered to enhance performance. The refined neck has been positioned slightly back from the leading edge to improve visibility and ease alignment for increased confidence at address.

Evolving the use of interchangeable, customizable sole weights to tune the setup and feel of putters at all lengths by directing more weight to the heel and toe, the Special Select Squareback 2 is designed with integrated stainless steel sole weights that enlarge the sweet spot and enhance stability, balance and performance.
